Went to a Different Kind of Convention This Year
by Saethydd inmy old congregation's regional convention was the week before last, and for the first time in 20 years, i wasn't there.

i had loads of fun there, i cosplayed as a jedi and the doctor (which is my current profile pic).

Zalkin
by the girl next door inthere may not be anyone on the planet that has inside information about watchtower abuse in regard to sexual child abuse than zalkin.
he has been given a plethora of inside information but can not share it by order of the court.
when will the courts lift this veil of protection for religious entities?

It would be natural and even warranted to accuse or at least suspect that powers at large are protecting themselves by their orders for the sick perversions they themselves are engaged in. Those deeds have been exposed.
But on a grand scale it is too conspiracy for me. Judges are guided by law. The law is built by legislation which is bolstered by voters.
I have issues with current legislation so it is incumbent upon me to educate the public and move them to lobby reform.
The problem isn't with sitting judges. It's with the law they try to follow. Until voters are moved to care about abused children and the manipulation of religious entities while abusing legalities, we can only rely on the slow progress and measured victories from attorneys like Zalkin.

Most of the elders are in sexless marriages and feel guilty about the amount of porn they look at. When they can use their influence upon a young girl or boy to divulge the details of their sexual encounters it becomes stimulating and satisfying for them because they avoid the usual guilt in trade for something they feel instructed to do by the little dark green secret elders instruction book.
They go home and use their rediscovered arrows on the frigid quiver occupying their bed. She's happy because of the illusion he cares, he's happy because more judicial meetings are scheduled.

Becoming a jw actually made me a much more worldly person.
by lancelink ini was raised a catholic from birth to age 15, that's when my dad started to study with some jw's that came to our door.
i was too young/ naive to notice how my lifelong friends were slowly being replaced with so called " outstanding spiritual youths".. anyway, there was randy and kevin, the sons of the po from the hall, everyone thought that they were the most spiritual people i could hang out with.
these guys taught me the fine points of :.

JW kids I grew up with committed heinous crimes. Murder of store manager. Assault on school principle. Grand theft. Rape.
Of course the adults in their life weren't much of an example. Murder, Pedophilia, child porn ,aggravated assault/vandalism, fraud, perjury, larceny, kidnapping, tax evasion.
And the petty stuff like adultery, infidelity, porn, loose conduct, brazen conduct, (which covers everything outside of attending meetings and door knocking) a little casual and recreational drug use, including providing all the above to minors.
Getting away from JWs was a revelation in itself. Learning that all other "Christians" or whatever walk of life wasn't simply spectacular because they were not jacked up like JWs was a process.
"worldly" people are normal. The JW baggage we carry just makes us susceptible to the next cult or creature worship.
How many have traded one cult for the next?
Tread carefully, you've already wasted a bunch of years.

Do You Hope Donald Trump Makes Jestures Of Mending USA With Russia Relationships?
by Brokeback Watchtower ini think the problems the us and russia face are mainly ideological.
the cold war these two countries have been in needs to be stopped and common sense needs to be applied i hope trump can push thing in the right direction and that he has good advisors.
i'm all for these two major world military powers to put away their differences and find way to work together on common problems they face.. they need to cooperate with each other even in their cyber warfare.

Trump and his administration are in trouble, like it or not. He is acting like a beaten step child, not the arrogant misogynist he was during the campaign. Yes the one that was elected by a college that is just as psychopathic. He lost the popular vote embarrassingly and it will haunt him forever. Blame it on California. California should rule or succeed. Russia has no power except through the internet. They want the US and all democracy to fail. They are doing an exceptional job. Should give you pause if you love democracy. But unless you have existed in a nation without it, you have no clue. Stop watching Fox News. It is rotting your power of reason. You likely escaped a cult. Do not get suckered in by the cult of Trump.

As a JW teenager I knew how to get away with everything. The object was not to get caught. As a parent of non-JW teenagers I realize how completely jacked up my youth was. The burdens placed upon me, compelled me to "badness". It was a game. I released the spring of parenthood control on my teenagers gradually. They are remarkably successful young adults. My spring was compressed until well into my second marriage and when I demanded its full release it wasn't pretty. I cringe for JW youth. They are all unpredictable messes.

I have personally witnessed countless "Christians" enter medical or legal schooling only to be vividly atheist at the end of it all. It really gives pause. I'm not certain it isn't because they literally have discovered they are (G)gods or they have stumbled upon what most of us can't. The debate is endless and fruitless. Once you have seen, you can not unsee. Unfortunately,it works both ways.

There may not be anyone on the planet that has inside information about Watchtower abuse in regard to sexual child abuse than Zalkin. He has been given a plethora of inside information but can not share it by order of the court. When will the courts lift this veil of protection for religious entities? Why doesn't mandated reporting follow through for attorneys? Zalkin speaks often of the Catholic church being brought to its knees with the unrelenting allegations of CSA. When will this happen to the Watchtower? I would love to hear more from Zalkin or from sources. CNN is never at a loss for sources. Don't get me wrong. This is not an attack on Zalkin, but rather an attack on our legal system. Why can't everyone on every level get behind the idea that we need to end child sexual abuse and open up full transparency upon institutions like the Watchtower? I know. It requires patience. But every day of patience leads to more abused children. I have dealt with so many attorneys. They seem to be immune to the passing of time. As do the courts. I am concerned it lowers the bar for all of us.
